One of the most rewarding aspects of running a website design business is the freedom it’s given me to travel. When I started building websites, I had no idea how much flexibility I would gain in my life. What started as a passion for design has transformed into a virtual career that allows me to work from anywhere—and I’ve taken full advantage of that!
The best part about working virtually is that I’m not tied to a single location. All I need is my laptop and a stable internet connection, and I’m ready to go. Whether I’m in a bustling coffee shop in a city or relaxing by a quiet lake, I can help my clients design and launch their websites. Over the past few years, I’ve been able to explore amazing places while growing my business at the same time.
This year, I've been working from many different locations around the U.S. including Arizona, Virginia, Washington State, Maine and more! I've also had the opportunity to travel to Canada, England and Iceland while managing my business! I've found that my passion for helping small business owners and my passion for travel, don't have to be so different. By engaging in the two things I am passionate about, I'm able to bring my best self to the table for all of my clients and have a broad perspective on all types of branding and business that I've studied on my trips around the U.S. and hopefully soon, around the world! I love all of my clients: they give me the power to do what I'm passionate about every day!
This freedom is something I cherish deeply. Recently, I took a road trip across the country, visiting national parks, meeting new people, and soaking in incredible views. Being able to run my business while exploring places like Yellowstone and Glacier National Park has been a dream come true. Even when I’m on the move, I can stay connected with my clients and keep their projects moving forward.
My experience has taught me that travel doesn’t have to come at the expense of running a successful business. In fact, traveling can even boost my creativity! There’s something about being in new environments that helps me come up with fresh ideas and new design concepts. It's also given me insight into what it means to balance work and life, and how important it is to design a business that works for you, not the other way around.
For anyone considering starting their own online business or website design career, I can’t recommend it enough. The possibilities are endless, and the freedom to work virtually opens doors you never thought possible. I’ve been able to build relationships with healthcare providers and natural health practitioners from all over the country, all while exploring new places myself. It’s a win-win, and I wouldn’t trade this lifestyle for anything.
If you’re ready to take the leap into website design or virtual business ownership, know that it is possible to have both a successful career and the flexibility to travel. My journey has been proof of that, and I can’t wait to see where the road takes me next!
